Project search for extraterrestrial intelligent life SETI first opens access to the code of signals

For 15 years, beginning in 1995, volunteers helped the international project to search for extraterrestrial intelligent life SETI, to find aliens in space. More precise - to detect abnormal signals in the depths of the universe. To do this, they have provided free resources on their home computers to handle the collected signals from space. This project is called SETI @ home.
And now organizers of the project in honor of 50 years of SETI done to all fans of green men, this gift. At the annual TED Conference in California, they announced the launch of the project SETIQuest and a special website, empowers volunteers. New specialists SETI opened access to collected data and the source code of the basic search algorithm signals for all Internet users, reports New Scientist. Now, by registering on the site of the project, the participant SETIQuest can improve the code of the programs that are used for decryption and digital signal processing system with telescopes Allen (Allen Telescope Array) - a basic tool of SETI. And those who do not own programming skills, can join SETIQuest and examine the processed data in the collective search for possible signals of artificial origin.
