Program that analyzes the child's cry
A team of scientists from the International University of Hiroshima, Japan, has invented a computer program that analyzes the child's cry and "transforms" it into normal language, that is, explaining to parents why the terrified child is crying. The results were published in «International Journal of Biometrics».
The translator explains the crying child when the child is crying from hunger, when he needs a nappy change, and when the child just want to hug him. The researchers acknowledge that the analysis of the child crying, they used the parent view, because the obvious way to ask the child about the correctness of the translation they could not. According to some experts, such a program is particularly relevant for fathers, because fathers usually like electronic devices and are experiencing greater difficulty understanding the baby than the mother.
Incidentally, in November 2009, members of the research consortium MindLab found that fathers really do not hear the baby crying in a dream (of course, since there is an average father in the general case), while women believe their husbands will just pretend to be asleep to not stand up to the baby. Most men wake up at night by the sound of car alarms, the howling wind and the hum of flies. Stir men's sleep may also snore, the sound of water in pipes, chirping crickets, car siren, clock ticking, running drills, dripping faucet. A woman is primarily responsive to children's crying, even if she has no children.
Researchers say that the different sensitivity to external acoustic noise developed in men and women in the process of evolution. Weaker sex in the dream is more sensitive to sounds that indicate the potential danger to the child, while the stronger sex "tuned" to the sounds of speaking about a possible danger for the whole family.
